Royal Caribbean puts Harmony of the Seas cruises on sale for Crown and Anchor Society members

Royal Caribbean is allowing its Crown and Anchor Society members the first chance to book their spot aboard Harmony of the Seas.

Harmony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's third Oasis-class cruise ship, will have her inaugural cruise in June 2016.  The ship combines features found on older Oasis-class cruise ships as well as some innovations first introduced on the Quantum-class of ships. In addition, there are water slides aboard the ship, which is a first for Royal Caribbean.

Those Crown and Anchor members interested in booking can call Royal Caribbean directly, consult a travel agent or book online.

The general public will be able to book their cruise on Harmony of the Seas starting on March 19.

Royal Caribbean releases full Harmony of the Seas deck plans

Royal Caribbean revealed today the full deck plans for its third Oasis-class cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas.

The deck plans list all of the onboard restaurants, bars, lounges and entertainment the ship will offer.

Harmony of the Seas will feature many restaurants from the Quantum-class of ships as well as the new water slides that will be on the ship.

Harmony of the Seas will debut in Europe

Royal Caribbean's third Oasis-class cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, will debut in Europe and offer European cruises in summer 2016 before she makes her way to the United States.

Harmony of the Seas will begin sailings in April 2016 and will offer 7-night cruises from Barcelona and Rome to the Western Mediterranean.  Harmony of the Seas will visit ports such as Palma, Florence and Naples.

After the summer 2016 season, Harmony of the Seas will head to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to offer cruises to the eastern and western Caribbean.

Harmony of the Seas is under construction at STX Europe in France.

Harmony of the Seas will be available for booking April 2nd

Royal Caribbean has pushed back the date for putting Harmony of the Seas sailings on sale to April 2, 2015.

Originally sailings for what will eventually be the largest cruise ship in the world were set to go on sale on March 11, 2015 but Royal Caribbean confirmed in Twitter that they will now go on sale in 3 more weeks.

Harmony of the Seas will be based in Port Everglades

Royal Caribbean announced today that Harmony of the Seas, the third cruise ship in the Oasis-class, will be home ported in Port Everglades, Florida in winter 2016-2017.


The new Oasis-class ship news was announced today as part of the 2016-2017 Caribbean deployment schedule.

Harmony of the Seas will offer seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings along side sister ship Allure of the Seas.    Royal Caribbean did not announce specific sailings or itineraries yet, just where the ship will be sailing from.

Once launched, Harmony of the Seas will take the title of the largest cruise ship in the world and offer onboard amenities from Oasis- and Quantum-class ships, as well as brand new water slides.

The 227,000 gross ton ship is being constructed at STX France shipyard in St Nazaire, France.

Royal Caribbean announces Harmony of the Seas details

Just days after announcing its third Oasis-class cruise ship will be named Harmony of the Seas and feature water slides, Royal Caribbean is pulling back the covers even more on this new ship to reveal new details.

The waterslides coming to Harmony of the Seas will me multi-story waterslides that twist and turn over Central Park.  One of the slides will feature a champagne bowl that swirls guests around as they make their approach to the end of the ride.

In addition, more venues were announced for Harmony of the Seas including a Bionic Bar on the Royal Promenade.  The Bionic Bar was first introduced on Quantum of the Seas and features robot bartenders serving up one-of-a-kind crafted cocktails.

Speaking of technology, Harmony of the Seas will also offer guests use of the new RFID bracelets known as WOWbands, another Quantum-class innovation.  There will also be the same high-speed internet access that the other Oasis-class ships have had via the new satellite internet technology provided by partner O3b.

With the internet speeds on Harmony of the Seas, guests will be able to stream video, Skype with friends and family back at home and share their cruise vacation on social media.

Onboard Harmony of the Seas you will find virtual balcony staterooms and suite guests will have access to a well-appointed suite lounge and a private suites-only restaurant called Coastal Kitchen, as well as an exclusive full-service Suite Sun Zone sun deck.  There will also be studio stateroom choices for single travelers.

In the Boardwalk neighborhood, you will find classic arcade games and a relocated Starbucks location.

Dynamic Dining and Dynamic Dining Classic will be the dining choices on Harmony of the Seas.  Guests can choose between the two Dynamic Dining choices.  Dynamic Dining’s “Classic” option allows guests to rotate through each of the main complimentary restaurants at an early- or a late-seating time throughout their cruise with their dining group and the same assigned waiter each evening.

Harmony of the Seas will be Royal Caribbean’s third new ship to launch throughout the next 18 months. Itineraries for Ovation of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas will be announced this coming March.

Royal Caribbean confirms water slides coming to Harmony of the Seas

Just a day after announcing the name of the third Oasis-class cruise ship, Royal Caribbean confirmed that this brand new cruise ship will feature water slides onboard.

Royal Caribbean will add three water slides to the ship's Pool and Sports Zone.  The new slides will take guests down three decks in a series of twists and turns.

Other details surrounding Harmony of the Seas, including where it will be homeported or where it will sail to, have yet to be announced.

Harmony of the Seas is about halfway done with construction at STX France and scheduled for delivery in mid-2016.

Royal Caribbean announces name of third Oasis-class ship will be Harmony of the Seas

After weeks of speculation, Royal Caribbean announced it will name its third Oasis-class ship Harmony of the Seas.

Rumors of the ship's name had been circulating around the internet for a while now but Royal Caribbean chose to hold back the ship's official name until now.

UPDATE: Thanks to an intrepid blog reader, we have a better look at the rendering for Harmony of the Seas, which reveals multiple water slides, which would be a first for the Oasis-class and a fairly unique addition to any Royal Caribbean ship.

Despite the fact we now know the name, little else is known about Harmony of the Seas.  Harmony has been in the shadow of Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas but guests can expect more information to start coming out more frequently in the months leading up to her debut.

Harmony of the Seas is under construction at the STX shipyard in St. Nazaire, France and is scheduled to debut in April 2016.

Royal Caribbean's third Oasis-class cruise ship has quietly been under construction at the STX shipyard in St. Nazaire, France for a little while now and today we have some new photos of her progress.

Royal Caribbean took some official shots of this new ship, wich is shceduled to debut in April 2016.

We still do not know her name or where she will be homeported, but this is a good indication of her progress.

Royal Caribbean selects L-3 Marine Systems to provide third Oasis-class navigation system

Royal Caribbean has awarded L-3 Marine Systems International the contract to provide its NACOS Platinum navigation system for the third Oasis-class ship that is being build by STX France.

The navigation equipment for the new vessel includes L-3 SAM Electronics’ NACOS Platinum navigation system, comprising five X- and S-band radars linked to 9 Multipilot workstations for the combined display of ARPA radar, ECDIS and conning functions. 

L-3’s NACOS Platinum series will also include an advanced dynamic positioning system, developed by L-3 Dynamic Positioning & Control Systems, and features four multifunction touch screen consoles, one CP1 DP controller, and interfaces for required environmental and position reference sensors. Positioning software, specifically developed for critical cruise ship station-keeping operations, is designed to significantly reduce fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.

The third unnamed Oasis-class ship is scheduled for delivery to Royal Caribbean in spring 2016.
