Port Canaveral, Florida has Enchantment of the Seas and Freedom of the Seas calling it him and it announced that it is expecting a third Royal Caribbean ship to be based out of the port for the winter of 2014-15.

Port Interim CEO John Walsh indicated that Royal Caribbean will make an official announcement regarding adding a third ship to the port in about two weeks.

Walsh also mentioned that Royal Caribbean and the port are in "accelerated" discussions about bringing a new megaship to Port Canaveral.

Port Canaveral is hoping to build a brand new cruise terminal that could handle the largest cruise ships in the world.  Walsh is planning to use this idea as a selling point to bring either Royal Caribbean's third Oasis class ship that is due in 2016 or the second Quantum Class ship that is coming in 2015.

Royal Caribbean has not announced the home port of its planned third Oasis-class ship or its second Quantum-class ship.

Walsh said he also is talking with representatives of cruise lines that do not have ships based at Port Canaveral about the potential for new service out of Port Canaveral. Among the cruise lines he has talked with are Celebrity, Holland America and Norwegian.
